Selecting the right size Chandelier for my dining room
Chandeliers are the best option to choose for house decoration. However, too large of a fixture will overpower the space. On the other end, too small will look disconnected from the room.
First choose the fixture, then you can decorate further with accent lights. Table lamps add a soft touch to any room.
A chandelier should be approximately half the width of your table. It should be hung with the bottom of the fixture 30 to 32 inches above the tabletop for an 8 feet ceiling. Go up 3 inches for each additional foot of ceiling.
If you put a chandelier in the middle of the kitchen, it definitely defines the space.

How do I determine the proper size chandelier for a foyer?
If your foyer is 12 by 18 feet, with a ceiling height of 16 foot or higher, the suggested sizing for your chandelier would be 1/3 of the width of this space. For example, if your room width is 12 feet, your fixture width will be 4 feet.
